Greece Day 4

Okay okay. So Greece day 4 took forever to post. I have this habit of getting really into something then taking a break for awhile. Why you ask? shoot don't ask me. I don't even know.

SO. day 4. what did it consist of? it consisted of: hiking UP a volcano for about an hour. lets just say it was HOT and well hot. BUT it was a really cool experience knowing we were hiking a volcano in GREECE so I forgave the heat(just this once).

this is me taking a rest on top of the volcano. beautiful views. as long as you ignore the fact that there's a chance the volcano might erupt.

after we walked around for another 30minutes..we then headed back to our sailboat that we took to the 3 different islands of Santorini.

our boat was the third one. not sure if you can see it. we had to walk through other boats to get to ours.

After the volcano experience we then had the chance to jump off the boat into the sea. that is something I will NEVER forget. I wasn't able to take pictures because well.. I don't have a water proof camera. but I know some of the EFcollegebreak.com crew took some of us in the water. so I have those to cherish. we all swam to the "hot springs"(it was not hot) and we sure were hoping it was because that water was coldddd. we swam to the hot part and then to the mud part! I look up and I see all these people covered in brown and of course I thought... I HAVE TO DO THAT. and well I did and it was amazing we then swam back to the boat and I made sure to take in every moment.. I mean come on. I just jumped in the Mediterranean sea off a huge sailboat in GREECE

I then got back on the boat so we could head to another island. now.I LOVED these sailboats. but there is a downside..what you ask? it led to my first sea sick experience. and lets say it was worse than any drunk experience or hangover I have ever had. it was BAD. I got off the boat to the next cute little island feeling like I was getting pushed around in the ocean and then dragged in circles all while wanting to throw up...exciting hu? I was so mad cause I wanted to experience this island AND I was supposed to be riding a donkey. so I took a dramamine unrealisticly thinking it would heal me in 2minutes(it didn't) we sat down at a cute little dock over looking the ocean and I tried to eat a gyro...yea not smart.after I started to feel better I thought hey lets ride a donkey...BAD idea but not for the reasons you may think
list of reasons NOT to ride a donkey on..(forgot the name)
1. they make you pay 5dollars and it doesn't even go towards the donkeys need
2. they barely feed/give water to them
3. they slapped and punched(yes.. one got punched in the face..and caused it to stumble later and have a girl fly off the donkey)
4. they make them go up and down this huge cliff all day..little water.

so after realizing all this I felt like a horrible person for riding one and I don't even want to post pictures or honestly tell people I did it. so this is the last time i'll probably mention it. it was sad.

after that we got on the boat(head spinning and sickness gone). we then went to the more famous part of santorini. and of course I can't remember the name. so here is a picture because I know y'all will recognize it(and yes I took this..pretty amazing)


that place. beautiful hu? well lets say it took us going up steep steep steps? no not steps..slates?.. I can't even explain but I think it took over an hour. it was the most intense thing I have done and it is definitely not handicap accessible.

this picture doesn't really do our hike up to the top justice..but it's good for now. but at least we had amazing scenery if not I would have cried. Once we got to the top we wandered around the city and just took in the beauty of it all(corny I know). this place definitely had lots of bf/gf and married people. we were able to find a restaurant that had a balcony over looking the water and I had my first banana split!


awesome right? ya I know..after that we walked to this cool castle and watched the sunset. there were dogs everywhere and barking like crazy. the dogs here are strays and the government lets them roam around because a long time ago they would kill them..and so now the government feels bad so they feed the animals and give them yearly shots (there's some greece info for you in 2nd grade form)



the night ended with the sunset and a bus ride back to our hotel. it was a tiring day. we had to get ready and rest up for our ferry to mykonos the next day. I would have to say mykonos and santorini were my favorite. mykonos for the amazing clubs.bars.beach.and the little town that felt like I was stuck in a maze. ahh it was amazing. santorini because well...it's santorini!

DAY 5 is fun.. mykonos ..fav. part about it? going into the little town and paradise beach! amazinggg!.. I apologize now if it takes me another month.

Greece Day 3

Well Well. Day3. Day 3 consisted of 7hours on a ferry! how exciting. It did give us a chance though to meet everyone in the family and chat and of course sleep. This is my friend and I on the boat.


The boat ride consisted of: coughing because of smoke, napping on tables, weird greek burgers, internet, more coughing, BEAUTIFUL scenery, ocean waves, new friends, giggles and more sleeping.

Once we finally arrived to Santorini we took a bus to the TOP and when I say top I mean top. It was a scary bus ride but very worth it for the view and for the location we headed to. Right when we got off the bus we all ran to our hotel rooms and put on our bathing suits to head to the beach and see this!

That's right black sand! How cool hu!? I had never seen black sand before. Then more of this went on.

So after the swimming and picture taking we headed back to the hotel to get our faces on(make-up) and get all cute to head to the capitol, Fira I believe it's called.

After this was taken we had dinner at a cute spot on a hill over looking an amazing view. Once the eating was done(I got a bacon and ham crepe, yummm!) we all met up with spiros!!! We had one big bar hopping night of 100 of us! We pretty much packed each place we went to, curious? here's a picture of it

pretty nuts hu? It was like this everywhere we went.Bar hopping that night was insane. It consisted of: dancing, more dancing, alcoholic beverages, more dancing, yelling, walking, more walking, bars, jumping, laughing, and pretty much more alcohol and more dancing. Lets just say it was an amazing first night in Santorini!

I forgot to show you the beautiful view we had in Fira, i'm so mean. So here you go!



The night pretty much ended with a hangout at the beach and some more laughing and drinking.

Greece Day 2

Well well. Day 2 was one big educational tour. We went into downtown Athens where we gained lots o' knowledge! We actually passed by where the riots had taken place a week before and saw all the flowers that were left outside of the bank that were bombed, pretty sad. After that we stopped at the very old Olympic site where a man ran in full armor.

After that we headed to the Parthenon! It was surreal being there. I don't think I realized how cool it would be to see til I was actually there, standing there looking up at it. It was an amazing experience.

After we had the chance to see that, we basically had about 5hours of free time and ran around Athens and shopped! woowhoo My new family and I had our first gyro, which was bangn! I cant even explain how good the Gyro was and all the food

I bought a lot of shizz for my family and a few things for myself. They sell tons of bracelets over there so obviously I had to get a lot of them.

But enough of the shopping. After that we all headed to the Hard Rock restaurant where we finally met/completed our new family. Lets just say our first night in Greece at the Hard Rock was one to remember forever! So many drinks and the start of the jager bombs and fails made it's way into our lives. There was moon walking(me of course) yelling, food throwing, boy talking, giggling, falling down, 8year old boys selling roses, ouzo(yuck), greek flag shots, and my favorite, drunk purse/watch shopping!

After that picture we all headed to a sweet bar! It had colored bottles everywhere. Here's a picture of it.


This bar was a lot of fun and all of us really got to know each other this night. My friend had I had a greek flag shot that was really yummy. It was something blue(I think ouzo) then baileys then blue again. The baileys is what made it delicious. After we took crazy pictures and bought roses from a little greek boy it was time to stumble our way back to the bus where we all started the chant of spiros(our amazing tour guide) and hugged him and yelled his name even more and then began the OPA craze. I'm pretty sure we were annoying but hey we had fun!!

We then headed back to the hotel in Gylfada to sleep(kinda) since we had to wake up at 5am. horrible I KNOW!

Day 3 coming at ya soooon!

Greece Day 1

The first day of Greece consisted of getting a bus ride to the city we were staying at that was outside of Athens (because of the riots..it was all done though). I can't spell the name.. Glyfadia? Something like that. We got our room assignments and then decided to explore. We found a cute cafe. amazing food!

after that we found our way to the water, where there was a marina

we then made our way back to the hotel and tried to cross the street. The people there are nutsss. They speeeeeed and they won't stop for anyone, pretty scary actually. After that we had to take a nap,I think about 3hours. We then met our tour guide again, who by the way is amazing!We then met some more people and hit the towwwn! The town here wasn't as exciting as downtown Athens but hey it was still Greece. It was pretty funny trying to figure out where to go, we definitely looked like tourists.

We found a nice restaurant and it had alcohol woowoo. We got to know our soon to be future family and had Greek beers and giggled. It was definitely a nice calm start to our soon to be crazy nights to come. Those blog posts will be even more exciting.

We headed to a few more bars then headed to the hotel and hung around the lobby and drank some more and met more people. I ended the night with breaking Laurens converter trying to plug in my too much to handle straightener. Oops. not a good thing to break on the first day hu?

Day 2 will consists of waking up at 5. 7hour ferry, and lots of bar hoping. Coming soon!

GREECE!

I can't even begin to explain how amazing Greece was and is. Well okay I could but I would talk for days. I am planning to give a day to day detail sometime later this week, but for now I am fixing pictures and resting! I'll leave you with a few that I took!

2days

well well well. Greece is in 2days and I guess you could say I'm ECSTATIC! It's going to be an amazing experience. I fly from Raleigh to Atlanta and then Atlanta straight to Athens,Greece aka a reallllly long flight. A lot of people in the Greece group are stopping somewhere in Europe. I bought a lot of goodies for the trip you know important stuff like anti diarrhea..you never know what's in the water!! I also bought headphones, i pod charger, cliff bars, Advil, miniature bathroom crap..exciting hu!? I'm not sure I really have anything more to say but that I'm excited. oh and that I am in PA visiting my family and I went to a new bar with my sister and it was fun! I love sports bars! ok bye.

weekend

This weekend was silly. I had a lot of fun. Friday consisted of the normal shenanigans and cute dresses and free shots pretty good right? Well Saturday was just as great maybe better! I finally went to my hometown and got to see 2 of my best friendssss! It was the first time the 3 of us have been together in over a year..insane I know. We danced.acted silly.looked cute and danced some more..pretty much my idea of a great night. I don't really have anything more exciting to say..oh wait I also met my family there for mothers day, which was just lovely because I haven't seen my whole family together in awhile as well..also insane. Oh and I didn't get back to the hotel till 5:30a.m. and the guy at the front desk was in shock...he needs a life. So now I am watching My Life in Ruins to get myself pumped up for Greece..consider me pumped. Okay bye hope y'all had a good mothers day and a fantaaastic weekend. tata

rambles

so yesterday was cinco de mayo and I made sure to be very responsible and make sure I either stopped drinking by 10p.m. or was sober by 10p.m. well unfortunately the holiday had other plans and I kept on celebrating. I mean come on I don't think I've ever celebrated cinco de mayo so I felt bad and needed to embrace the culture..which ended up with me drinking German beer.. oops. BUT I did have a margarita but it was way too sweet.. barf. anyways I had a fun time. went to the usual places. I came back...not sure when and I tried talking to my roommate.. I pretty much said things like this "if the delivery is on the street if massage good" and "seriously, massages on Greene st and tips" as you can see I'm great at English but the weird thing is I never usually talk like that when drinking...crazy cinco de mayo what have you done to me. but I had fun until I had to wake up 4hours later for work.. I had to work 2 different shifts today so obviously I made smart decisions last night..hey live and learn right? well it's 10pm and I officially feeling like shooting cinco de mayo in the face and telling it never to arrive again

so I'm using my mini computer now because my biggie is kinda dunzo. It has a virus on it and I am too poor to fix it so I'm just going to get a new computer whenever I get a better job, hopefully soon! Wooo Sunday. If you read my other posts I'm sure you know I'm being sarcastic. Although my friends and I are watching Billy Madison and it's probably one of my favorite movies, you know you love it...right? My friend came in to town Friday and it was buckets of fun. We did a lot of interesting things this weekend such as, chatting, drinking, gossiping, drinking, tanning, shopping...you know the important things in life. Not really sure anything too exciting happened this weekend to blog about but I just felt like rambling..you know the usual..thanks for listening..all 2 of you.

Now wipe your tears away. On a happier note..one of my besties is visiting and I am pumped! It's always nice when little pieces of my hometown come to visit me. I miss it there so much!! But luckily I get to visit next week. I'm sure this weekend we will have lots of giggles and gossip about who knows what..well I do but that's a secret! and I'm sure have a drink or ten.

not wednesday

tuesday was a weird day for me. so this casting call thingy I had was for The Real World, yes the show. I had submitted a email to them describing myself(which my friend helped me write) and four pictures of me and well they e-mailed me back! So my friend and I traveled to Charlotte yesterday to interview and it was actually a lot of fun and I didn't act shy. It was about 30minutes and they asked pretty general questions, nothing too insane. The casting lady said she would call starting at ten.. lets just say I had my phone on my hip. Took it to the bathroom, the kitchen, family room, stared at it lovingly, 10 p.m. came by..game time! Then 10:30 hits, it's okay she's still making calls. Then 11 comes on by..ohh it's okay she must be showering now...then 12 comes by..maybe she lost my number? Ya, I think you get the point, I didn't get it oh well. I guess it's better that my crazy antics are not plastered all over TV and then there be a chance of not finding a real job after the show? or maybe I'll just find another show! so as we are driving home giggling about answers we gave and how cool we are and how we are totally getting a call (riiight)I see a cop behind me (I am almost home). He pulls me over and I wake my friend up and I was calm because obviously I'm perfect and don't speed and well I do NOTHING wrong. Well seems little Lindsay here didn't renew her registration on her car, ohhh about 5months has gone by for it WTF?! ya. lets just say I confused myself and never got it registered again and only did the inspection. needles to say a 28$ inspection turned into a grand total of 180$ so note to all fellow car owners, get your car inspected and REGISTERED !!!
